The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying new business opportunities to drive revenue, profitability, and growth. This role involves strategic market positioning, targeting new clients in the ‘Premium & Service’ channel, and securing profitable business. Key tasks include winning new clients, transitioning accounts to project management teams, and collaborating with Account Management to pitch to current clients.
Job Role
Identify and research new business opportunities, including markets, growth areas, trends and customers
Target and approach key decision-makers
Proactively create proposals and pitch presentations, to support sales efforts
Maintain and update a business pipeline, sharing with Senior Management
Follow the new business strategy to drive sales
Develop proposals and presentations to secure new accounts
Actively identify and pursue business opportunities
Communicate new product developments to potential clients in collaboration with Account Management
Manage pitch processes, including proposals, negotiations, and closures
Uphold and promote company culture, values, and reputation
Accurately manage business forecasts and prepare monthly reports for management
Meet company profit goals
Collaborate with other units to identify cross-selling opportunities
Build relationships with key personnel in new business accounts
Regularly meet with senior management for business planning and progress updates
Generate ideas for new revenue streams
Advocate for innovation
Stay informed about competitors and market trends
Well-established industry presence
Experience in consumer electronics, FMCG, travel retail or premium brands
Ability to bring business opportunities
Strong network of industry contacts and leads
