Buddy’s Bites: How to attract talent to your business

Straco_Group_Recruitment

Every company wants to be leader of the pack and that means attracting the best talent.  Let me treat you to my top tips on how you can be top dog just like me.

Be a company to sniff out… A good reputation in the industry you are in is important in attracting talent – you need your company name to stand above the rest.  You can raise your profile in a number of ways, from winning awards to getting involved in local events or charities (dog charities are always a good option I’d encourage).  Another thing to consider is your company culture – I bark about Straco all the time because I get regular walks, food and plenty of fuss.  Do your staff love you as an employer?

Make sure you have a pawsome team… Here at Straco Towers I am lucky to part of a pretty pawsome team, and that’s because Simon chooses the right people.  It’s important to have a team that works well together, sometimes it isn’t the experience someone brings with them, it’s how people work together.

Treat your talent well… Respect goes a long way with retaining staff and once you’ve got that talent on a leash you don’t want them to run off again.  If you value what they bring to your business and listen to what they have to say (may I suggest a suggestion box?) then you will have some happy chappies on your hands.  I always react well to a tasty treat, so why not reward hard work with incentives (I love a good game of fetch myself), or even just a pat on the head can go a long way?

Are you having problems attracting top talent? (You can always call my pals at Straco on 01302 323 336)
