Happy birthday to us, happy birthday to us! Woo hoo, that’s right, we’ve hit the big 2-0, and here at Straco towers we are celebrating in true Straco style, with lots of cake, a tea party and a shiny new logo.
The year that was 1997
Teletubbies hit our screens, Full Monty landed and some of our favourite artists took to the charts; notably ‘Be Here Now’ by Oasis- what a song! It was also the year that Simon Horseman (MD of Straco Group) opened up shop and his recruitment dreams began. Little did he know that years later we would be a 15 strong team recruiting talent for leading clients across the UK. Simons Trading Company was born (Get it S-TRA-CO)
For the love of brands & retail design
A big lover of brands, and a big fan of shopping in London, Simon’s recruitment dream soon evolved into helping clients in the POS and POP industry find talent. Working predominantly with clients in London and Leicester, Simon became the ‘go-to’ recruiter and over the years business has naturally evolved into other areas of retail meaning we now cover retail interiors, events and exhibitions. Design and retail came together and it’s an industry we are all passionate about working in here at Straco.
Turning a corner
We’ve come a long way since ‘Simon’s Trading Company’ took flight, and as the company has evolved so has the name and what we stand for. Today not only marks our 20th Birthday, but we’ve also rebranded. On the face of it, our logo has been simplified and been turned a few degrees– some might say ‘we’ve turned a corner’; but for those of you that love branding as much as we do, you know that branding is much more than just a logo and we’ve changed our entire approach to how we do business; so we hope you like our new look and our new approach to straight-talking recruitment.
A great big thank you
Now you’ve read about our 20 years in a nutshell, last but not least; we’d like to say thanks. One of the reasons we are still standing today is for all the support we have received over the years, so a big thank you from Simon and the whole team for working with us. We’re still a small company and we really do appreciate all the opportunities that have come our way that have made us the company we are today. We like to think we’ve done a great job of matching talented candidates with opportunities they are excited about, and this is something we will always endeavour to keep leading the way on for many years to come. Thank you clients. Thank you candidates. We couldn’t have done it without you.
If you don’t see a role for you, still send us your CV because new opportunities arise all the time and you might just be what our client is looking for.
